Irish Soda Bread

 Kathleen’s Irish Soda Bread

A wonderful recipe handed down through our family, passed from my mother Kathleen, to myself. I hope you enjoy it!

Ingredients

1lb Course Brown Flour

1lb White Flour

Handful of Wheatgerm

Handful of Seeds

Handful of Jumbo Oats

1l Buttermilk

2 level tsp Breadsoda

You will need 4 1lb baking tins, well greased

 Method

Preheat oven to 185°C.

Sieve White Flour & Breadsoda into a large mixing bowl and add other dry ingredients.

Make a well in the center of the mix and add enough buttermilk to make a soft but not sloppy dough.

Divide into tins and bake for 1 hour or until hollow to tap.

Remove from tins and leave to cool on a wire rack!
